Is the father of Anna Nicole Smith's little baby Dannielynn Hope ready to get married? A report from the National Enquirer set to be published this week claims that is may be so. Science teacher Dana Lynn Walker is the secret girlfriend of Larry Birkhead- and friends believe they are planning to marry, the Enquirer reports that is has learned exclusively.

The couple celebrated Father's Day together at Anna Nicole's former home in Los Angeles while Dana took her first gentle steps to getting to know 9-month-old Dannielynn. "Dana and Larry are in love- and she would love to become mommy to Dannielynn and help raise her," a source told the magazine.

The mag describers her this way: She's a beautiful, brainy blond who could become the new mom to Anna Nicole Smith's baby daughter Dannielynn. But she hadn't met Anna Nicole's daughter until June 14, when she flew from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles. A chauffeured car whisked her to the Studio City home where Anna lived before she moved to the Bahamas- for a reunion with Larry and a getting-to-know you session with Dannielynn. "Dana and the baby hit off right away," says friends.

Larry, 34, and 5-foot-5 Dana have known each other since they attended grade school together in Louisville, Ky. Over the years, they and their families remained friends.

But incredibly, it took the bizarre aftermath of Anna Nicole's death to turn friendship into romance. "While Larry was battling in court in Fort Lauderdale over where Anna Nicole would be buried, he stayed with Dana's parents in Boca Raton," explained the source.

"He and Dana were together a lot, and she accompanied him to the courthouse a couple of times when he had meetings with Howard K. Stern and Anna Nicole's mother."

"They made excuses to be alone together, and it was soon obvious that they were no longer just friends. There was a spark between them that quickly grew into love."No one cheered louder than Dana when a Bahamas court ruled that Larry's DNA matched Dannielynn's- and he was the baby's father.

"The first phone call Larry made after the verdict was to Dana," said the source. "She couldn't wait to meet Dannielynn- but she couldn't join them till school finished." "Larry wanted her to share his first Father's Day weekend with them, so the timing was perfect." Dannielynn could one day inherit a half-billion dollars from the disputed estate of Anna Nicole's late husband, billionaire J. Howard Marshall II.

"But Dana could care less whether that happens or not,"said the source. "She's not over-awed by money- her stepfather is a millionaire in his own right." Friends say that when Dana and Larry do marry- and they haven't yet set a date- the biggest winner would be Dannielynn.

"Over the years when they were just friends, Larry watched Dana doing a wonderful job raising her own son- he's a great kid," said the source. And he must be confident that she'd bring the same kid of dedication and caring to raising Dannielynn.

"If anyone can make sure that that gorgeous little girl is grounded and grows up as normally as possible, it's Dana."

Photographer Larry Birkhead showed off baby daughter Dannielynn as he spoke about the joys of fatherhood.The photographer, who took Anna Nicole Smith's baby home last month after he proved he was the biological father, said being a dad was his "biggest accomplishment".

He also revealed he was scared that his daughter would reject him, because he had not been there at the time of her birth. An emotional Birkhead, 34, broke down in tears as he spoke to Fox News reporter Greta Van Susteren about Anna Nicole and his baby daughter.

Wiping away tears he said he still loved the former Playboy model, missed her dearly and feared the bad things Dannielynn might hear about her mother. But the photographer, who met Anna Nicole at the Kentucky Derby, grinned as he spoke about being a dad and spending time with his baby girl.

"It's great. It's a lot of energy, a lot of time, a lot of patience," he said.

"It's rewarding, it's probably like my biggest accomplishment.

"Nothing compares to being a father and hearing those cries."

Speaking from the balcony of Anna Nicole's home in California, Birkhead described the moment he first laid eyes on Dannielynn. "She was just kind of laying in the crib and she was just immediately clinging to me," he said.

"She grabbed onto me, pinched my cheeks, put her hands on my face.

"One of my biggest fears was that she was going to reject me and I was going to say 'Here, take her back', but she didn't and it was kind of magical.

"That was like the delivery room for me because I never got that."

Birkhead said he had given some thought to what he would tell Dannielynn about her mother.

"I'm more concerned about what she's going to hear from things that I don't tell her - that's captured in video, court hearings, transcripts and even things I had to participate in," he said.

He added that he had also considered what to tell his daughter about Anna Nicole's drug use.

"I have thought about that and it's probably going to make me a little bit more protective," he said.

"I don't like to think about it sometimes so I don't even know how I'm going to talk about it.

"Today all I have to do it make her smile, make sure she's healthy, put a roof over her head and make sure she has all the affection and love she needs."

Dannielynn Birkhead Custody - UPDATE

After almost two weeks of relative calm in the custody battle over Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter, Dannielynn Hope Birkhead, the case is back in court.

Larry Birkhead, 34, filed a petition in probate court on Monday to be appointed as the sole guardian of the Estate of 8 month-old Dannielynn Marshall Birkhead. In papers obtained by Us, Birkhead asks the court to name him as guardian "in order to represent his daughter's interest in the probate proceedings for the Estate of Vickie Lynn Marshall, aka Anna Nicole Smith." Birkhead's hearing is set for June 19.

Meanwhile, according to Smith's will, Howard Stern has been named special administrator as well as executor of her estate. Smith's personal attorney Ron Rale was named second executor.

The will, which Smith signed and dated on July 30th, 2001, before Dannielynn's birth and son Daniel's death, lists her sole child as Daniel Wayne Smith. The will directs that all of Smith's property, after the payment of taxes, be distributed to Howard Stern, who will hold it in a trust for her child, Daniel. Once the child reaches 25, the will provides they will be given one third all the income and one half the principal of the trust. At age 35, her child will be given all the remaining principal of the trust. It states that Smith's spouse is deceased and has no registered domestic partner. Smith's estate's current estimated value is listed as $710,000.

Birkhead, who arrived in the states with Dannielynn on May 1st, should prepare for a challenge to his request for guardianship: Anna Nicole Smith's mother, Virgie Arthur, has promised she will continue to fight for custody of her granddaughter.

After Smith’s death on February 8, Birkhead, Howard K. Stern and Prince Frederick Von Anhalt all came forward with claims that they were Dannielynn’s real father. Birkhead was awarded custody of the baby when the Bahamas Supreme Court resolved the matter with a DNA test.

Let me introduce myself to you. My name is Dannielynn Hope Birkhead. I am almost one year old and I live in California. My Mom passed away last February. Her name was Anna Nicole Smith. My dad is Larry Birkhead. Here is my story:

On June 1, 2006, in a video clip posted on her official website , my Mommy, Anna Nicole Smith, announced that she was pregnant. "Let me stop all the rumors," she said, while floating on an inflatable raft in a swimming pool. "Yes, I am pregnant. I'm happy, I'm very, very happy about it. Everything's going' really, really good and I'll be checking in and out periodically on the web, and I'll let you see me as I'm growing."

Though her announcement did not provide any details, in an interview with Larry King on CNN's Larry King Live, Moms longtime personal attorney Howard K. Stern said that he and my mother had been in a secret relationship for "a very long time" and then appeared to contradict that contention when he said they were confident he fathered the baby because of the timing of the pregnancy, which appeared to imply that there was at least one other possible father. Her ex-boyfriend, entertainment photojournalist Larry Birkhead, steadfastly maintained his contention that he is my father and filed a lawsuit to challenge paternity. I was born on September 7, 2006 at Doctors Hospital in Nassau, Bahamas. My given name was Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern. The Bahamian birth certificate recorded my father as Howard K. Stern.

A judge in the United States ordered that DNA tests be performed to determine who was my biological father. Following my mothers death, Debra Opri, the lawyer of Larry Birkhead, asked for an emergency DNA sample to be taken from the corpse. (yuck! I hate that word) Moms lawyer, Ron Rale objected strongly to this request. The request was denied by a judge, instead ordering her body preserved until February 20.

According to a story published in the New York Daily News, Donna Hogan, moms younger half-sister, (my Aunt) had said that my mom, Anna Nicole Smith, froze the sperm of her second husband, Marshall, prior to his death. The newspaper says Aunt Donna wrote in her unpublished manuscript about her sister, entitled Train Wreck, that "To her family, she hinted that she had used the old man's frozen sperm, and would be giving birth to Howard Marshall's child". That’s Gross! However, the publisher of Aunt Donna ‘s book described the newspaper's claims as a hoax. On February 9, 2007, Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt said that he had a decade-long affair with my mother and could potentially be my father . Just think , I could have been Dannielynn von Anhalt. Thats cute. Then , Alexander Denk, one of my Moms former bodyguards , reportedly told the tabloid television program Extra that he had an affair with her, and that it was possible he could be “Dannielynn's father“. Mark Hatten aka Mark "Hollywood" Hatten also came forward to claim that he is “the father of Anna Nicole Smith's little girl, Dannielynn.” All this is real confusing, but I had a whole lot of men wanting and wishing they were my Dad. I am honored by this.

On February 14, 2007, TMZ.com wrote “Anna Nicole Smith had been given a prescription for methadone under a false name while she was in her eighth month of pregnancy. The Medical Board of California launched a review into the matter; the prescribing doctor, Sandeep Kapoor, said his treatment was sound and appropriate."

Finally , On April 10, 2007, a Bahamanian judge ruled Larry Birkhead, as the father of Dannielynn. (That’s me) He cited that the DNA test results confirmed at 99.99% certainty that Birkhead is my dad. Dr. Michael Baird who performed the test, also commented on its accuracy. Commenting on this revelation, Birkhead stated, "I hate to be the one to tell you this but, I told you so. I'm the father...My baby's going to be coming home pretty soon." I’m so proud of my daddy! FYI. Howard K. Stern does not plan to fight my dad for custody. Although Howard will not fight for custody, my granny, Virgie Arthur, plans to battle in court for the right of custody. Dad was allowed to take me back to the United States, but must return to the Bahamas for a custody hearing in June.

So, me, Dannielynn Hope Birkhead, daughter of Larry Birkhead and the late Anna Nicole Smith, landed at a Kentucky airport Tuesday, May 1 , after a fuss-less flight from Nassau. I absolutely love to fly!

My dad and I were heading to our relatives' home in Louisville for a visit before traveling to California, where he lives.

I had been in good spirits the entire day. A reporter said “ Dannielynn ate, slept, played and ate again. She barely fussed."
